The year of the ox reminds us of our resilience and perseverance. 2021 is the year to thrive after surviving the extreme challenges from the pandemic of the century. Success is to be measured not by the position that one has reached in life but by the obstacles which one has overcome. There's hard work ahead, but we have always been stronger than the challenges we face. The Chinese-American Engineers and Scientists Association of Southern California (CESASC) will show our spirits of resilience and perseverance to pursue excellence wherever we are. Hereby, we are excited to inform you that CESASC will hold the 59th Annual Convention online on May 22nd, 2021. “Surviving and Thriving” (頑強生存，蓬勃成長) is chosen as the theme to promote the resilient spirit of trudging through adversities to achieve success.

 

Founded in 1962, CESASC is one of the largest and most prestigious Chinese American professional organizations in Southern California. Over the past 58 years, CESASC has been serving the community via the association’s annual technical symposium, scholarship, business innovation program, career development and leadership training, and STEM workshop and contest. Those programs have benefited numerous early career professionals in their respective fields and future scientists and engineers in their formative ages. CESASC is extremely honored to have so many Chinese American “celebrities” as our past speakers and awardees from Nobel laureates such as Dr. Chen Ning Yang (楊振寧), Dr. Samuel Ting (丁肇中) and Steven Chu (朱棣文), to political stars such as Elain Chao (趙小蘭), world famous film director Ang Lee (李安)， and so on.

 

This year, we have created the following programs for you to gain unprecedented experiences:

 

1. 1:30pm-5:30pm: Daytime Programs, featuring high-profile speakers touching various hottest fields of technology, business innovation and leadership.

2. 5:30pm-6:30pm: Coffee break and entertainment. 

3. 6:30pm-9:00pm: Convention Gala, featuring keynote speech of inspiring Entry, Descent and Landing of Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover, and scholarships award ceremony.
